The Land In Trust program supplies LEED credits in Canada and the USA,
including:
LEED for Existing Buildings: Operations and Maintenance
2009
Sustainable Sites Credit 5: Site Development: Protect or Restore Open Habitat.
Under the LEED for Existing Buildings: Operations and Maintenance 2009
standard, credit SS5 can be obtained for protecting or restoring open
habtiat. We provide this credit by protecting and restoring an off-site
natural landscape on land that is owned and managed by one of the many
organizations within the Canadian Land Trust Alliance (CLTA) across
Canada.
This credit can be provided to LEED EB O&M projects across
North America and we have already provided credits to LEED projects under the
CaGBC and USGBC accreditation processes.
Land In Trust is a program
that provides a simple, standardized process for LEED projects to acquire
credits from CLTA member land trusts. We can supply this credit across most of
Canada and the whole of the USA.
